Crash Bandicoot 4 Has Been Leaked?!

It is completely undeniable now – no matter how much 2020 throws at the world – games will pull us through. Our will to live has been restored. Both Skate 4 and Crash Bandicoot 4 in one night?! I can only think of one thing to say – “OogaBooga!”

What’s been leaked?

Last night, Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee, leaked the new Crash Bandicoot game apparently coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The ratings board leaked the game and case art, the name, and synopsis for the highly-awaited addition to the Crash game series.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time (adequately named) comes a whopping 22 YEARS after it’s predecessor Crash Bandicoot: Warped. The fact that the game is possibly being released on PS4 and XB1 does suggest that it’ll probably be arriving in store before November, the release month of the PlayStation 5. This is probably the most exciting of the game releases of the year for all of our 90s-00s babies!

What Will Crash Bandicoot 4 Be Like?

Although no official game play footage has been released as of yet, there is a good way to figure out what sort of game it will be. The game is being developed by Vicarious Visions, the same company that re-mastered 1-3 in Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. But what’s so important about that? As part of that collection, they created a new level for number 3 from scratch! So if you want to see what sort of difficulty and style number 4 will be in, this is a good place to look!

You know the name, you know the art, you probably want to see the synopsis. Here’s the google translation:

Crash is relaxing and exploring his island in his time, 1998, when he finds a mysterious mask hidden away in a cave, Lani-Loli. The mask is one of the Quantum Masks and apparently knows Aku-Aku, Crash’s mask friend! With the Quantum Masks returning and a Quantum Rift appearing near our heroes, they decide to bravely head through to different times and dimensions to stop whoever is responsible.

Is The Leak Real?

The “leak” is already pretty airtight with how much we’ve been given by Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee, but if you need some more evidence, we’ve got it! According to comicbook.com, a whole bunch of Crash Bandicoot merchandise was leaked last week. This leak included mugs, beanies, keyrings, the whole lot! Crash appears on a lot of merch but coming in such an amount so suddenly… it must mean something. As well as this, during a PS4 ad, you can see a brand new character hovering over Crash and Coco. It’s a mask resembling Aku Aku, that you can also see on the game art. It all adds up!

Whether you believe it or not, this is super exciting news!
