Horizon: Forbidden West – Release Date, Information, and More

In 2017, Guerilla Games captured the hearts of gamers around the world when they launched
Horizon Zero Dawn on the Playstation 4, bringing an amazing storyline set in a breath-takingly
beautiful post-apocalyptic setting to life, pushing the boundaries of the Playstation 4 generation as
they stepped out their comfort zone to bring the world a third-person open world game.
Though, it left players craving more and wondering whether the franchise would be continued.
Though, all of this and a little bit more was revealed on Thursday night when Sony announced the
Playstation 5 along with a slew of titles we can expect at launch and near enough launch including;
Horizon Forbidden West.
Though much of the game remains a mystery, here’s all we know about Forbidden West so far;

INDUSTRY-BENCHMARK GRAPHICS

When Horizon Zero Dawn launched on the Playstation 4, it had some of the best visuals the current
hardware has to offer. With each area of the map having its own style and personality with
everything to offer in the world breath-takingly detailed. Featuring jungles with thick vegetation to
cold regions covered in snow and the world littered with settlements homing different tribes to give
the game unique and intricate architecture.

And fans believe that Guerilla Games will go that one step further with Horizon Forbidden West after
job listings surfaced from the studio calling for technical vegetation artists, looking for talented
individuals to help them produce “industry-benchmark graphics”.

ALOY RETURNS

Zero Dawn introduced protagonist Aloy, cast out of her tribe and raised by a fellow outcast. Aloy
wishes to become a member of the same tribe that cast her out, The Nora and undergoes a ritual of
initiation known as the Proving. However, the event is interrupted when cultists attack and slay
many members of the tribe leading Aloy to set out on a quest to discover her origins and learn about
what happened to human civilisation.

Horizon Forbidden West looks to continue the story of Aloy as the sequel takes her on an adventure
to explore Western America, equipped with her bow to face new and fierce machines.
So, while not much is known about Forbidden West yet, if it can recapture what made Horizon Zero
Dawn the best-selling Playstation 4 exclusive and drag players in like the start to the franchise did.
It’s sure to be a hit with gamers across the globe and whether it’s a 2020 game or 2021, I’m sure
gamers can’t wait to get their hands on Aloy’s newest adventure.
