How to Easily Find Collectibles in The Last of Us Part 2
The Last of Us Part 2 has more collectibles than it does zombies. If you’re going for the platinum you’ll know how frustrating it is to try and find them all. Especially as some are very well hidden. This process can be difficult, and following a guide doesn’t help when you’ve got to find the world’s smallest coins. In this article you’ll find out how to easily find collectibles in The Last of Us Part 2.
Thankfully, fiddling with some settings will make your hunt for collectibles extremely easy. Almost too easy. There’s two changes you need to make here, High Contrast Display and Enhanced Listen Mode. we’ll show them both separately.
Side note: If you’ve finished the story and you’re looking to do a trophy run, this article will help massively. You can also combine it with this article on how to turn invisible in The Last of Us Part 2. (You can click it now, it’ll open in a new tab.)
How to easily find collectibles in The Last of Us Part 2
High Contrast Display
Step 1
Start by going into Options at the main menu.
Step 2
Next, you’ll want to Scroll down to Accessibility and click on it.
Step 3
Then, scroll down to Magnification and Visual Aids and click on that.
Step 4
Navigate over to High Contrast Display and set it to Setting 1.
Step 5
If you head into the game, all you have to do to activate the new mode is swipe left on the touchpad. This will change all of the colours in the game. All friendly NPCs will be blue, items will be yellow, and all enemies will be red. Everything else will be grey.
Enhanced Listen Mode
Step 1
Just like before, start by going into Options at the main menu.
Step 2
Move down to Accessibility and click on it.
Step 3
Click on Navigations And Traversal.
Step 4
Scroll down to Enhanced Listen Mode and set it to ON. Change the Scan Range to 30m, and the Scan Time to 1s.
Step 5
Once you’re in the game, holding R1 and pressing Circle will scan the area for items that Ellie or Abbie can interact with. If there’s an item nearby, it will emit a chiming noise, and a circle will show where the item is. If the item is a floor higher than you, the noise will be slightly higher in pitch, and vice versa if the item is a floor lower.
Use both of these together, and it will be almost impossible for you to miss a collectible in The Last of Us Part 2.
Using a guide alongside these setting changes will ensure that you get every collectible, as well as parts and supplements for the Survival Expert, and Arms Master trophies.
