How to Find the Elk-Antler Comb for the Comb of Champions Quest in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

In Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla there’s a world event that seems almost impossible. After chatting with the NPC Bil, Eivor will be asked to find an Elk-Antler Comb for her, in exchange for some lovin’.

It’s obviously a highly sought-after reward. Because, everybody around Bil is desperately going through the area with a… fine-tooth comb (nailed it). Frustratingly, reading the note ‘Maiden’s Missive’ can throw you off even more with it’s cryptic clues.

However, this isn’t quite the ‘needle in a haystack’ objective that it appears to be. (It’s actually a comb in deep, dark, icy waters).

Maiden’s Missive

Just to the left of Bil (who at this point has probably said ‘it must be around here somewhere’ for the 50th time) is a table with the Maiden’s Missive note on it.
The ‘Maiden’s Missive’ says:

Hail, brave champions,
Come find my comb.
It is lost and lying low,
Where only the courageous go.
Be you bold of breath and blood,
Do not wallow in the mud,
Find me by the rushing waters,
And be my fish in shining armour.

This note says two things, Bil is horrible at rhyming, and the comb is underwater.

Time to Get Wet

1. After reading the note (and being as confused as we were about the fish in armour) head over to the waterfall right in front of you.
2. Eivor can be killed if they are in the water for too long so find a rock to sit on while you plan your next move.
3. Side note: the top of the cliff (to the right) has plenty of iron ore to harvest.

Dive In

1. Just to the right of the waterfall, dive down.
2. While under the water, scan the area to get a better view of your surroundings, and you should also see a blue light (the comb) deeper down.
3. Once you’ve figured out where everything is, swim back up and let Eivor catch their breath.

Combing the Area

1. Now you’re back underwater, keep heading down towards the comb. Although your health will begin depleting, you’ll easily get the comb and make it out of the water safely.
2. The deeper you get, scan as many times as possible, and you’ll eventually see the blue light emanating from the comb.

Now Go Get Some Lovin’

1. All that’s left to do now is head back to Bil and claim your reward.
