How To Get Maximum Settlement Happiness In Fallout 4 2020

Ah, the dreaded achievement for maximum settlement happiness in Fallout 4. This rage inducing piece of digital bling – Benevolent Leader, despite how hard it is to achieve, is only a Bronze Trophy on PlayStation… Ridiculous!

To kick things off, if you want to get maximum settlement happiness in Fallout 4, Do Not Use Sanctuary! There’s an unfixed bug that will keep you at 98 – 99. Also, make sure you Do Not Have a Follower, because their happiness will be included when you’re at the settlement.

Step 1

There’s a common misconception when trying to get the maximum settlement happiness in Fallout 4. The description states that it needs to be a large settlement, which is completely wrong. Choosing a smaller Fallout 4 settlement and getting it to maximum happiness will still net you the trophy! The highest success rate is at Coastal Cottage.

Step 11

If you haven’t hit 100 settlement happiness after weeks of sleeping and fast travelling, it’s time for the secret weapon to give it the final boost. The Junkyard Dog! Firstly pop down a dog house and bowl in a sheltered area.

Now there are three ways you can get a Junkyard Dog to stay in your settlement. The most time consuming, would be to find a character roaming the wasteland, named Gene. He’s selling a dog for 250 caps, and you can send this dog straight to your settlement. It will boost happiness to 100 and will also add 5 defence.

The quicker ways would be to either purchase the Far Harbour DLC for Fallout 4, which allows you to buy dogs from vendors. Or you could purchase the Wasteland Workshop DLC, which allows you to build a cage in your settlement and catch a dog. Both of these ways will offer the same type of dog, giving a huge boost to settlement happiness and +5 to defence!

Step 12

Once you have the dog, sleep for a few more days, keeping the food stocked up, and you’ll finally have maximum settlement happiness in Fallout 4!
