How to pair an Xbox One or PS4 controller to your iOS device

Boasting a whole new gaming experience for its mobile devices, Apple brought us the Apple Arcade, which offers players an impressive list of games from indie and established companies, for a monthly subscription of £4.99.

Thanks to the update a few months back, iPhone users can now pair their Bluetooth controllers to their devices.

So how do you pair your controller to your ios device?

The process is exactly the same as pairing any other Bluetooth device. Whether it’s a Fitbit, an Apple Watch or some headphones it is pretty much the same setup.

  1. Update your device to iOS 13 under Settings. Go to ‘General’ and update your device.
  2. After the update, go to Settings and Bluetooth.

3.  For PS4 Dualshock controllers, hold the share and the play button (the logo) until the light begins to blink.

For Xbox One controllers, turn it on and hit the sync button.

4. The controller should appear on your phone under Bluetooth devices. Select it to pair it to your phone.

It’s as simple as that, you’re now set up to use your controllers on your iOS devices. Go play some games!
