The BEST Early Game SORCERER BUILD in DIABLO 4 (Level 1-50+)

If you’re looking for a powerful Diablo 4 build, this early game Sorcerer build is for you! It’s incredibly overpowered, and most importantly, a lot of fun! We’re going to go through every detail. From the skills, the equipment, even down to the gems, literally everything! 

A lot of build guides I’ve seen recently have been great, but unfortunately they aren’t always the easiest to follow. The articles tend to transition to different parts of the skill tree and it all gets messy and confusing.

So I’m going to focus on getting the information of this ridiculously overpowered sorcerer build out in a clear and concise way!

BASIC SKILL (Level 0-2)

So for your first 2 levels you’re going to pop them into the basic skills section

All you’re going to want to do here is pop two points into Frost Bolt, This is a great little ranged attack that throws a bolt of frost at an enemy, dealing 42% damage and also chills them for 15%. It has a Lucky Hit chance of 40% too!

CORE SKILL (Level 3-6)

For Core Skills we’re going to be putting 4 skill points down here.

Of course, we’ll be popping our first 3 points into Devastation, this is crucial because it increases your maximum mana. For this build you’ll be replenishing and using mana at a ridiculous rate!

You’ll then want to go ahead and put down a point in Potent Warding which is going to give this build a spicy kick! After using a non basic attack, this skill will gain you a 2% resistance to all elements and an addition 1% resistance to the element of the non basic attack you’re casting.

DEFENSIVE (Level 7-28)

There are 22 points going into the Defensive section, this is where you’re going to see a huge difference in your build!

For the first three points you’ll want one in Flame Shield, this engulfs you in flames for 2 seconds that will burn surrounding enemies for 40% damage per second, it also makes you immune. But, we’re not stopping there! Add your next point into Enhanced Flame Shield which will give you +25% movement speed when Flame Shield is active. Yes, you guessed it, we’re putting our third point in Shimmering Flame Shield which will heal you for 50% of your missing life.

You’ll then want to sink two points into Teleport, this is a shock spell that teleports you across the battlefield whilst dealing 28% damage giving you the Unstoppable status. Your next point should go into the Enhanced Teleport skill, this will decrease teleports cooldown by 0.5 seconds per enemy hit, for up to 3 seconds, trust me happen way more than you expect. Your next point is going into Shimmering Teleport, after teleporting you gain 30% damage reduction for 3 seconds.

Then 5 points into Frost Nova to completely free enemies around you. 1 point into Enhanced Frost Nova which will reduce Frost Nova’s cooldown by 1 second for up to 4 seconds every time you kill a frozen enemy. Then Mystical Frost Nova which will make enemies Vulnerable for 4 seconds, this is increased to 6 seconds against bosses!

Next up you’ll want 1 point in Ice Armour, This is a 6 second long barrier which absorbs damage up to 30% of your base life. You’ll also added to the barrier with 5% of the damage you deal. Then Enhanced Ice Armour which will increase your Mana Regeneration by 25% while Ice Armour is active.

Finally you’ll want 3 points in Glass Cannon which will mean you deal 18% increased damage, and take 9% more. But don’t worry, you’re going to be a beast who is not only hard to hit, but will have endless shields. And then you’ll want 3 points in Elemental Attunement which gives Critical Strikes up to a 15% chance to reset the cooldown of one of your defensive skills. This can happen every 10 seconds!

CONJURATION (Level 29-38)

Moving down to Conjuration now, you’ll be sinking 10 points into this section. Starting with a point in Align the Elements this will give you a 1% damage reduction against elites for every second you haven’t taken damage from one, and this can go all the way up to a staggering 40%.

Next you’ll want 3 points in Mana Shield, every time you spend 100 Mana you gain 15% damage reduction for 5 seconds, so you can already see how crazy this is going to get!

You’ll then want 3 points in Protection, using a cooldown will grant a 2 second barrier for 30% of your maximum life!

Then lastly for Conjuration you’ll want Precision Magic which gives you a 15% boost to your lucky hit chance.

MASTERY (Level 39-52)

For your Mastery you’re going to put all 5 points into Meteor. This is where things start to get really chaotic! You’ll then want a point in Enhanced Meteor which gives a 30% chance for another meteor to land in that location if 3 enemies are hit by the initial cast. You’ll also want a point in Wizard’s Meteor which will immobilise enemies for 2 seconds on impact.

Next you’ll want 3 points in Inner Flames this gives a 9% damage increase to all Pyromancy skills while you’re healthy

Finally you’ll want 3 points down in Devouring Blaze, which will give you a 30% increase to critical strike damage against burning enemies. As well as a 75% damage increase if they’re also immobilised.

ULTIMATE (Level 53-59)

For your Ultimate you’re going to start by putting a point into Inferno. This summons a giant snake that constricts enemies and burns them for 295% over 8 seconds. You’ll then want to go ahead and drop a point into Prime Inferno. This causes Inferno to repeatedly pull enemies to the centre. Next up, put a point into Supreme Inferno, now when Inferno is active your Pyromancy skills won’t cost any mana.

Finally pop your final three points into Fiery Surge which will give you 3 seconds of 30% mana regeneration for killing a burning enemy!

KEY PASSIVE

For your Key Passive you’ll want to go with Esu’s Ferocity. This gives your fire critical strike damage an increase by 25% against all enemies above 50% life.

Your fire critical strike chance is also increased by 5% against enemies below 50% life.

And finally, killing an enemy with a critical strike grants both bonuses against all enemies for 3 seconds!

EQUIPMENT STAT PRIORITY

So I’ll do a quick run-through of what you should prioritise when selecting equipment. Obviously, these aren’t all doable straight off the bat, but it’s just an idea of what to look for and focus on.

  • Crit Chance
  • Lucky Hit Chance
  • Max Mana/ Resource Generation
  • Crit Damage
  • CDR
  • Ranks of Meteor
  • Ranks of Defensive Spells
  • General Damage up

GEMS

And then finally let’s talk Gems. 

Weapons – Emerald (For Crit Damage to vulnerable enemies)

Armour – Ruby (For Life %)

Jewellery – Skull (For Armour)

ASPECTS

  • 1H Weapons: Aspect of Shattered Stars
  • Offhand: Elementalist’s Aspect
  • Ring 1: Prodigy’s Aspect
  • Ring 2: Storm Swell Aspect
  • Amulet: Aspect of Control
  • Helm: Aspect of Fortune
  • Gloves: Aspect of Three Curses
  • Legs: Aspect of the Protector
  • Boots: Aspect of Binding Embers

So the way this build works is you Teleport first. Then you’ll use Frost Nova, then Flame Shield, followed by Inferno if needed. Ice armour next if you need extra defence, drop meteors on everything around you, and then rinse and repeat. It’s incredibly fun to do and wipes enemies quickly!
