So you’re playing Diablo 4 and you’re getting destroyed by enemies a few levels higher than you, or sometimes even similar levels to you.
We’ve all been there, especially for the newer players. So this is hopefully going to help you look at your character, analyse what they need and get the maximum potential out of them. I promise you after this you’ll be slaying enemies who out-level you by 10 plus. For a build that makes you feel overpowered, you can check out our build here!
So let’s pick some skills and then we can work out exactly what can benefit our build and then go from there.
So for my Rogue I’ve gone with Puncture which benefits from critical hits because it causes them to slow, and can also cause vulnerability it requires dual wielded weapons and causes physical damage
I’ve also gone for Twisting Blades which is a cutthroat skill, it requires dual wielded weapons and causes physical damage
We’ve also got Shadow Step which is a backstab, it’s another cutthroat skill that uses dual wielded weapons and causes physical damage.
I’m also using Poison Trap and Shadow Imbuement too
So looking at the skills I’ve chosen it’s quite obvious the kind of armour and weapon skills we need.
+ Damage to Close Enemies (this is because most of our skills are up close)
+ Damage to Crowd Controlled Enemies (this is because a lot of the skills we chose have the chance to slow and stun enemies)
As well as anything that boosts poison and shadow damage and critical hits
+ Damage Reduction from distant enemies (this is because we’ll be moving quickly across the battlefield and most of the enemies will be trying to hit us with range)
+Damage Reduction from crowd controlled enemies (this is self explanatory by now)
Anything that boosts dexterity, health, or movement speed, just because I’m running a rogue.
Most players including myself will see a weapon with the green + sign that shows it does more damage per second, or a piece of armour that has a better armour ranking, and they’ll immediately equip it without weighing up the most important part of the item, which is without a doubt the attributes that it comes with. There’s no point equipping a staff that gives a sorcerer a boost in all of their electricity powers if you’re running a fire build, just because it has the green number in the box doesn’t mean it can take down enemies quicker. Trust me, once you get your equipment right you’ll feel over levelled for every quest or fight you get yourself into! For a build that makes you feel overpowered, you can check out our build here!
