Apex Legends Season 10: Everything We Know About The New Legend

The next chapter in Apex Legends is right around the corner, but who will be Season 10’s new arrival?

A New Face

The biggest change that Season 10 will bring is of course, a new playable character. A mix of data mining and screenshots have given us a pretty clear picture of the new legend coming to Apex. This new Recon class character is referred to as both ‘Seer’ and ‘Pariah’ in the game’s hidden files, so we’ll have to wait for official word from Respawn to find out their true name.

While we don’t have any artwork or footage of how they look, we do have some voice lines that reference them, as well as the names of some of their legendary skins.

Thanks to Twitter data miner @Biast12, we know that Pariah/Seer’s first 4 legendary skins are named “Secret Service”, “Lost Archive”, “Phantom Edge”, and “Chimera Effect”. Whilst this doesn’t give us much to go on, other leaks have been much more generous with describing our new Legend.

Along with the cosmetics leaks came a list of voice lines already present in the games files, seemingly talking about Season 10’s new arrival.

Loba says “New guy has a sense of style.”

Lifeline says “I hear this guy’s made of moths.”

Crypto says “This one spends too much time in the shadows.”

Revenant says “Another skinbag, at least I hear this one’s cursed.”

Bangalore says “They say the new guy can assemble shotguns faster than I can.”

Caustic says “Subterfuge and misdirection, tools of the coward.”

Rampart says “My boy’s coming, game’s ready to be kicked up a notch.”

Pathfinder says “Hello, swarm of new friends.”

Wattson says “His mother was a moon, and his father, a moth.”

From these few lines we get a lot of important information. The new Legend is male, relies on deception and seems to be cursed, setting up a potentially dark backstory. Pathfinder and Wattson’s references to moths could also tie in with the mysterious moth symbols that have been appearing in Apex trailers recently. Could they have been this new legend’s calling card all along?

The Mothman Cometh

Coming from the same data miner, we also have our new Legend’s abilities, or at least what they were during earlier stages of his development. Even if these have changed slightly, they’re still good indicators of the type of playstyle that Seer/Pariah will be encouraging.

Passive: Aplomb Training – Pariah can see enemy health bars. Pariah is also immune to stunning effects and other Pariah SDM devices.

Tactical: Sonar Grenade – Throw a sonar grenade revealing enemies in its area of effect. Grenade lasts for 15 seconds

Ultimate: Sacrificial Romantic – Pariah activates a SDM device releasing a flurry of steam in all directions but becomes unable to move. Steam causes burn damage directly to health.

Our new legend’s kit is certainly an interesting one, and could prove to compete with Bloodhound as the optimal Recon Legend pick. His passive will be excellent for picking your engagements wisely, especially during the scramble of a 30-man hot drop frenzy in Fragment. Sonar Grenade also could prove to be an excellent alternative to Bloodhound and Crypto’s scouting abilities, surpassing some of the downsides that come with them.

There is no doubt that Season 10’s new Legend will be a new take on a Recon playstyle, and with a bit of luck, his powerful abilities won’t be too overpowered upon his launch.
