How to Defeat Nigel Cass in Watch Dogs: Legion

If you’re on this article I’m assuming you’ve made it to the boss fight ‘London’s Protectors’ where you have to destroy Nigel’s prototype. There will be no spoilers past that point in the game here. This fight seems straight forward at first, but there are a few tips on how to defeat Nigel Cass in Watch Dogs: Legion.

How to defeat Nigel Cass in Watch Dogs: Legion

General

Before we get into the tips, I’ll kick things off by explaining how to beat Nigel’s prototype. This boss fight actually has three stages to it. Fighting the prototype, fighting the prototype that now has a missile launcher, fighting Nigel Cass.

Fighting the prototype: To do this, just follow the blue network lines along until you find where they’ve stopped. Fix the issue (usually by rotating something) and unlock the final part to temporarily shut down Nigel’s prototype.

When the prototype shuts down, yellow vents will become exposed on the front, back and sides. Shoot the vents as they are the weak points. Once you’ve drained a big chunk of health, the prototype will start up and you’ll need to do it again.

Fighting the prototype that now has a missile launcher: This is exactly the same as the first step, but as you might have guessed, Nigel is now packing rockets. Luckily, you get a nice warning before an incoming missile in the shape of a giant red marker where you’re stood. The same rules apply here as if you were fighting a Crash Bandicoot boss. Do what needs to be done, but when that marker shows, get out of there.

Fighting Nigel Cass himself: This part is hilariously easy. That isn’t even an exaggeration. Nigel Cass got out of his broken down prototype, and before he could let of any dialogue lines, I put two right between his eyes. If you want to beat him fast, just land a few headshots.

Tips on destroying Nigel’s prototype

Now, on to the tips!

Back up: Nigel calls in a lot of back up during his time in the prototype. Something very important to remember here, is to take out all of the enemies (including drones) before finishing the network link. If you don’t do this, the enemies will proceed to fill you with bullets while you’re trying to shoot the exposed vents on the prototype.

Duck and Cover: Nigel Cass may be considered a genius, but he sure is sloppy when it comes to trying to kill you. He doesn’t spare his ammo in the slightest, he will just keep shooting until he has to reload. This is great for you, staying in cover and following the network line is pretty simple. Just be sure to pop up and shoot the drones and enemies when Nigel needs to reload.

Take advantage of hacks: A lot of annoying drones will show up during this fight, so be sure to hack them into betraying the enemy. If you’re well hidden from Nigel and everybody else, it might be worth hijacking a drone or two. There are also plenty of traps to arm during the fight.

Exposed vents: When the vents are exposed on the prototype, don’t rush! The prototype doesn’t have a time limit before charging back up. It won’t be functional again until you’ve dealt the adequate amount of damage. So, if for some reason you ignored my earlier tip about back up, just breath, stay behind cover, and slowly drop all of the enemies.
