How To Get All The Characters In 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim!
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim was recently released to the rest of the world following its original release last year to Japan. The PS4 exclusive has been incredibly well-received, so it’s about time we give you some help where it might be needed! Here’s a guide on how to get all the characters in 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim that require specific pathways to achieve!
Character: Keitaro Miura
To begin with, you’ll need to play either Natsuno Minami’s or Shu Amiguchi’s story to unlock Keitaro. Here’s the pathway you need to follow in Natsuno’s story!
You’ll need to finish Natsuno’s prologue before accessing this path. Pick her story again and you’ll find yourself in the girls Track and Field room, the strangely named robot, BJ, has escaped!
Head over to Natsuno’s locker and once it appears in your Thought Cloud, consider “Hiding Place”. Once you’ve done this, Natsuno will have the option to remember what happened that morning so definitely check that out. Place BJ in your bag and leave the room, walk all the way to the right until the option to go to Tokisaka Shrine appears, go there.
Once you’re there, BJ will conjure several options for you so select ‘Sector’ and then pick ‘1945’. When you get to the Wooden School Building, play out the scenario until Natsuno and Keitaro meet in front of Tokisaka Shrine and Keitaro will then be unlocked!
Character: Yuki Takamiya
Yuki can be unlocked by following either Keitaro Miura’s or Natsuno Minami’s path. Here’s how to get Yuki by following Keitaro’s path!
Clear both the “Flashback: Battle in 1945” and “Heading to Sakura High School” paths from the Kaede Riverbed. Once you’ve cleared these two, pick Keitaro’s story again.
From Kaede Riverbed head right and hit ‘Secret Sentinel Building’. The keyword “1945” will appear in your Thought Cloud, consider it and select the option “Site of the Factory”.
At the playground, talk to the little girl and the keyword “Chihiro” will be added to your Thought Cloud. Walk towards Sakura High School and you’ll get the option of “Look for Natsuno Minami”.
Enter the school and head right to enter the old school building. Play through the scenario then head left to get to the front of the school. You’ll meet Megumi Yakushiji who will tell you where Natsuno is located if you present her name via the Thought Cloud. Chat with the track club members and Natsuno will eventually show up.
Use the keyword “Time Travel” on Natsuno, followed by “Wooden School Building”, then in the Old Building use “Beejay” and “Sentinel” to trigger a scene. Yuki is now unlocked!
Character: Tomi Kisaragi
Tomi is unlocked by clearing a path in Yuki Takamiya’s story which is available as soon as you clear Tomi’s prologue.
You’ll need to leave the roof that you begin at and open conversations with as many people as you can in the Hallway and the Athletics building to unlock keywords. You definitely need to make sure to get Natsuno’s secret notes from the club room. Get Erika Aiba to distract the club member that is standing watch and then enter the club room, her notes are in her locker!
You need two keywords to unlock the right path for the “Girl with red glasses” path. One of these is “Natsuno Minami” which you will already have. Use the keyword on the track club Manager who will then tell you about a recent incident and ultimately give you the second keyword, “North Building Fire”.
Head back to the rooftop and this time Nenji Goto will be there, present the keywords “Natsuno Minami” and “North Building Fire” and receive the keyword “Girl’s Bathroom”. Use this new keyword on Erika Aiba and then investigate the scene at the girls bathroom. Make sure you pick up the red glasses!
Once you’ve got the glasses, find Tomi Kisaragi, and present the keywords “Girl’s Bathroom” and “Red Glasses” to trigger the scene that finishes the path and unlocks Tomi!
Character: Nenji Ogata
Nenji can be unlocked by clearing a specific path in either Tomi Kasaragi’s or Megumi Yakushiji’s story. Here’s what to do with Tomi’s!
You’ll begin in an area with Miwako Sawatari and eventually Nenji will show up and you’ll get the keywords “The Ogata House”. Talk to Nenji, drink the soda he gives you, and continue talking to Nenji. During this conversation you’ll gain the keywords “Dead Kaiju” and “My Apartment”.
Talk to Nenji and present the keyword “Dead Kaiju”. The two of them will then investigate the Dead Kaiju and Nenji will then be unlocked and you’re halfway to getting all the characters in 13 sentinels!
Character: Renya Goto
Unlocking Renya will require you to clear Keitaro’s fourth event path.
Once you have the keyword “Natsuno Minami” you’ll be able to open this path which you should have if you unlocked all the other characters in this guide first. Click the keyword and you will get an option to head to Sakura High School so go ahead! Enter through the school gates and you should have the option to go to the athletics building.
Talk to the club members and you’ll achieve the keyword “Tokisaka Shrine”, go there! Examine the entrance of the shrine and Natsuno and BJ will show up. Talk to Natsuno and the option to go back to 1945 will appear. Once you’ve travelled there head left to leave the shrine and look for Keitaro’s sister. At some point you will run into Tamao Kurabe and an event will occur. Play through it and Renya’s story will be unlocked!
Character: Ryouko Shinonome
As with the previous characters, Ryouko requires you to clear a path in one of another two characters’ stories. This time it will be either Nenji Ogata or Yuki Takamiya so here’s how to unlock Ryouko using Nenji’s story!
It’s possible that you need to clear path 1 and 2 first so to clear path 1 you’ll have started at the train station, go right and talk to Iori Fuyusaka and then board the train with her when it arrives, this will also unlock the keyword “League of Darkness”. Path 2 can be accessed by waiting Tomi Kisaragi’s train and convincing her not to board by mentioning there’s been an accident.
Now you’ve cleared both of those, time for Path 3, the one that unlock Ryouko! From the train Platform 1, head right to talk to Iori using the keywords “League of Darkness” and “key” while talking. After a while, her train will arrive and she will board it with Okino, don’t follow them.
Once their train has left, turn left and you’ll run into Ryouko. Talk to her and use the keyword “Key” while you talk. Once her train arrives, follow her aboard and turn left inside the train to trigger a scene. Now Ryouko is unlocked!

- Juro Kurabe is unlocked after you finish the tutorial battle.

- Takatoshi Hideyama is unlocked by finishing Wave 2 of the tutorial battle from “Beginning of the End”.
- Natsuno Minami is unlocked by finishing Wave 3 of the tutorial battle from “Beginning of the End”.
- Megumi Yakushiji is unlocked by finishing Wave 4 of the tutorial battle from “Beginning of the End”.
- Shu Amiguchi is unlocked by finishing Wave 5 of the tutorial battle from “Beginning of the End”.
- Ei Sekigahara is unlocked by finishing Wave 6 of the tutorial battle from “Beginning of the End”.
And now you have all the characters in 13 sentinels!
