Three Essential Mafia 2 Tips
Lockdown has deprived us of most of our social activities, seeing unfortunate setbacks for moviegoers, gym-goers, and club-goers alike. However, for gamers, the hundred-plus days of staying indoors have allowed us to finally catch up on those titles that have been sat on our shelves for years on end. For me, one game I finally got round to playing required me to blow the dust off the trusty Playstation 3! The much-celebrated Mafia 2. Coincidentally, upon completing the game, the Mafia 2: Definitive Edition was announced! So, here are some of the top Mafia 2 tips to prepare you for your first run-through of the remaster!
Stealing is Easy
Find yourself a little short on cash? There’s little else to purchase in the city of Empire Bay, other than a bite to eat and a wardrobe upgrade, but cash is handy to have on you if you ever need to bribe a cop to turn a blind eye to whatever atrocity you just committed. Simply head into one of the numerous clothing departments and head to the cashier behind the till. Tap circle to give them a quick shove and magically, the contents of the cash register will now be yours!
Nine times out of ten, after emptying the till dry and swiftly heading to the exit, no wise guy will even attempt to stop you from getting away! On the plus side, if you do get stopped you’ll have the money to pay for your ticket. It’s a win-win, kind of.
Burning Rubber
If you’re feeling gutsy enough to refuse to pay your speeding ticket after being flagged down by a cop, but also aren’t in the mood to risk dying in a shootout, here’s an easy method to escape any penalties unscathed. If a police car spots you speeding, stop, and wait for the cop to get out and approach your window. As he walks closer to the car, keep the handbrake on but rev like crazy. Before he’s able to issue you your fine, release the handbrake and you’ll go flying down the highway. By the time the officer has got back into his car, let alone started chasing you, you’ll be off their radar! Leaving your criminal record and wallet unscathed!
Don’t Be Stingy!
There are a couple of pivotal plot twists in Mafia 2 that wipe you clean of all of your money, weapons, and possessions. Chapter 6 sees you go to jail for a reprised crime from an earlier mission. Whilst Chapter 11 sees your house burn down, once again with all your hard-earned cash inside. The lesson to be learnt from this is to be flippant with your money. Who cares? If it could all go at any given minute! Why not treat yourself to that shiny new gun and trench coat? Plus, the financial gains per mission only increase as the game progresses! So fear not, your hard-earned cash will reappear at some point. If you’re impatient though, simply refer to the earlier point entitled “Stealing is Easy”. The money will come to you sooner than you think!
