How to Turn Invisible in The Last of Us Part 2

The Last of Us Part 2 is packed to the brim with different types of enemies that will give you a hard time when all you really want, is some of that sweet, sweet revenge. So, what if I told you how to turn invisible in The Last of Us Part 2?

Around almost every corner there seems to be a human or infected ass hat waiting to give you a massive jump scare. Turning invisible will make things a whole lot easier!

I’m talking on a ‘Harry Potter’s Invisibility Cloak’ level. Not only can you move freely through each chapter, focusing on picking up collectibles for the trophies. But you can also turn it off and back on with the click of a button.

It’s incredibly simple, and hilarious to mess with the NPCs

How to turn invisible in The Last of Us Part 2

Step 1

Go into Options at the main menu.

Step 2

Scroll down to Accessibility.

Step 3

Click on Combat Accessibility, and then turn Combat Accessibility options on. Here you’ll find a bunch of settings to help with combat.
From slowing down time by swiping right on the touchpad to making the dodge button a lot more effective.
You can alter the effectiveness of the enemy AI’s ability to spot you, and you can even stop them from trying to flank you.

All of these options help, and should be activated if you’re doing a collectible run.

Step 4

Scroll down to invisibility and set it to on, don’t set it to limited as this sort of defeats the purpose of invisibility. Harry Potter’s Cloak doesn’t evaporate after 30 seconds of use, so why should your opacity be any different.

Step 5

This will work for either Abbie or Ellie, just head into the game, all you have to do to activate it is lay down. Once you’re prone, you’ll be completely invisible to all enemies.

Some things to note when turning invisible in The Last of Us Part 2

  1. If you get in the way of an enemy whilst they’re moving, and they step on you, they will notice you almost immediately.
  2. Your invisibility will stop when you either stand up, or aim your weapon. If you’re going to shoot someone make sure you’re not in their line of sight before you aim.
  3. There are some encounters that are story related, and will happen whether you’re prone or not.

For example, in the chapter The Horde,  Abbie parts ways with Owen to make her way to a nearby town. Going prone will work for the first few sections of the chapter, but when the full horde shows up, your invisibility won’t work.

Another example would be when you’re crawling under the truck as Ellie, to try and get into the supermarket. There’s an inevitable zombie related jump scare here that Dina saves you from, and you can’t avoid it with invisibility.
  4. You’ll have a logo in the bottom right corner of your screen that indicates that you can’t be seen. There will also be a low humming noise.
