Stardew Valley Gold Spring Onion Exploit

Foraging for spring onions is one of the many ways to earn money in Stardew Valley. We all know that gold spring onions will net you a tidier profit. Unfortunately, they’re very rare in the early game. Well, with this Stardew Valley gold spring onion exploit, you’ll be making millions incredibly easily.

How to do the Stardew Valley gold spring onion exploit

Step 1

Fill up your inventory so there are no spaces left.

Step 2

In your full inventory make sure you have a gold star spring onion already

Step 3

Make sure there are no other spring onions in your inventory.

Step 4

Find a patch of spring onions and keep trying to pick one, you’ll eventually pick a gold spring onion.

How does it work?

1. The quality of crops are randomised when you pick them.
2. Filling up your inventory will stop other types of spring onion from filling any spaces.
3. The fact you already have a gold star spring onion in your inventory means that the game has somewhere to store (by stacking) more gold star spring onions.
4. Keep clicking to pick up the spring onion, you won’t be able to until the ‘quality randomising’ lands on ‘gold star quality’.

Side note: This only works with spring onions, it doesn’t seem to work for other foraged items.
