How To Unlock Every Summon In Final Fantasy VII Remake

Summon Materia is powerful Red Materia that summons monsters to fight beside you in the Final Fantasy VII Remake. Check out how to unlock every summon in Final Fantasy VII Remake in this guide! 

With Final Fantasy VII being released onto Xbox Game Pass, we thought it was high time we offered up some tips and tricks to help you along your journey.

Ifrit Materia

Firstly, this one is great to begin with because you don’t actually have to do anything special. Jessie gives Ifrit Summon Materia to Cloud at the start of Chapter 4 as part of the story.

Chocobo & Moogle Materia

You will find the Chocobo & Moogle Materia in Chapter 6. You are required to turn off two additional sun lamps in the second section. With the lamps turned off, return to the cargo elevator and take the lift to the right of it.

After that, deactivate the fans and clear out the monsters. Then, activate the second terminal within the time limit to open the door to the Materia.

Shiva Materia

Another incredibly easy summon to obtain and one of the earliest forms of Wind Materia. You unlock the Shiva Materia by completing Chadley’s Battle Intel Report 5 in Chapter 9 – The Town That Never Sleeps.

Fat Chocobo Materia

Getting the Fat Chocobo Materia is simple. For this one, you just need to complete Chadley’s Battle Intel Report 10 in Chapter 9 – The Town That Never Sleeps.

Leviathan Materia

Interestingly, unlocking the Leviathan Materia is easier said than done. You’ll need to complete Chadley’s Battle Intel Report 15 in Chapter 13 – A Broken World. This is honestly one of the best boss fights in the game, as well as being one of the best summons.

Bahamut Materia

You can unlock the Bahamut Materia by completing Chadley’s Battle Intel Report 20. Unlock it by doing all the other Battle Intel Reports. This is an extremely difficult fight – we recommend levelling up your party to 50 before attempting it,

Cactuar Materia, Carbuncle Materia, and Chocobo Chick Materia

Unfortunatly, Unless you can go back in time these may be slightly difficult to get. Cactuar Materia, Carbuncle Materia, and Chocobo Chick Materia, are all obtained via DLC by pre-ordering the Final Fantasy VII Remake.
