Best Points of Interest in Liyue – Genshin Impact
Genshin Impact has such a large, beautiful world full of mysteries that it’s easy to overlook some of the most lucrative areas of the map. This guide is going to show you where some of the best points of interest in Liyue are and why they are worth exploring.
This will be a spoiler free guide, giving you as much useful information as I can without solving the puzzles for you. I will let you know what elements you need, what weapon types you need and if you should prepare yourself for a tough fight.
Dunyu Ruins
Dunyu Ruins is one of the smaller points of interests in terms of puzzles. To make up for that there are a lot of chests in the area; you will see most of them from a vantage point.
This area is fairly straightforward. There are very few large puzzles to solve with most of the rewards taking the form of standard locked chests you find throughout the world.
With that in mind you will need to take with you a Pyro and Geo character. For Pyro I recommend taking Amber, we all have her and her fire arrows make everything easier. For Geo the Traveller is your best bet.
Lingju Pass
This area is going to require you to have a team that includes Pyro, Anemo and Geo. The large puzzle spans the entire area of Lingju Pass. Requiring you to do a lot of gliding and climbing and swimming.
With this in mind using Amber as your Pyro character will likely save you some time. The ability to shoot fire arrows will save you time. Jumping from place to place trying to light torches at melee range with Xiangling and Diluc (like me)? Trust me, it’s a pain.
Usually I recommend the Travller as your Geo user if only because the rock they summon is so useful. This area requires you to have both Anemo and Geo to hand. So, pick the team that works best for you; whether that be Anemo Traveller with Noelle or Geo Traveller with Sucrose. Just use what you got. Worst case you can jump back to a Geo Statue to resonate and come straight back to a very convenient Teleport Waypoint.
Qingxu Pool
Qingxu Pool is another area that isn’t so puzzle heavy but is packed with locked chests and enemies to fight.
Due to the lack of puzzles you don’t need any particular element with you. There will be things for you to mine and to destroy. Taking either a Claymore or a Geo user with you is advised. As usual, the most useful of those two options is the Traveller with Geo. That rock is just so damn useful for platforming!
Luhua Pool
There is a lot going on at Luhua Pool. You will need a Pyro character (yes, I advise Amber again), a Geo character (did someone say Geo Traveller?) and a strong team ready for a difficult fight.
You can see the focal point of Luhua Pool clearly just from the image above. Arriving at this area you will see there is a lot more here than what meets the eye. From a distance you should be able to see two very large statues. As you approach you will come across a mission giver. He will make you put in a bit of leg work to receive some very nice rewards!
Tainqui Valley
Tianqiu Valley was my inspiration for making this guide. When I arrived here I didn’t have access to any of the tools I needed to complete the challenges. This meant I spent a fair amount of time going back to recall characters from expeditions and going to Geo Statues to resonate; I hope you appreciate how much time and effort I’m saving you here!
For this area you will need a Pyro character. I cannot overstate how much time you will save using Amber. It’s not impossible without Amber but it is going to be a lot slower. The Geo Traveller is required as you will need to get to elevated areas. So, unless you got super lucky with a Venti early on, Geo Traveller is essential for this area.
You are going to need to throw down in Tianqui Valley too. So make sure you have a strong team ready to use.
Jueyun Karst
Jueyun Karst is probably the most straight forward of all the areas I’ve pointed out in this guide. All you need to complete this point of interest is to fight.
That means you are going to need a strong team that can dish out the damage. You will also be required to break things, that means you will need a Claymore user of a character aligned with Geo.
Cuijue Slope
Last but not least Cuijue Slope. This is the most interesting of the points of interest but it also requires the most work.
To access the secrets hidden within Cuijue Slope you will need to have collected all 130 Geoculus. This will allow you to upgrade your Geo Statues to the maximum level of 10 and net you ten Stone of Remembrance.
I won’t spoil what you do with the stones as I’m sure this will become apparent upon arriving at Cuijue Slope. What I will say is that you are going to need your best team with their best gear if you want to obtain the epic rewards hidden within.
