How to Increase Adventure Rank in Genshin Impact
Upping your Adventure Rank or AR can get quite difficult as you start to push towards the mid-late game. That is why I am here to help you answer the question of how to increase Adventure Rank in Genshin Impact.
Story Missions
The most lucrative source of Adventure Rank XP is going to be your story missions. Following the main campaign will allow your rank to progress at a steady pace, while netting you some great gear and EXP along the way.
Of course, as with most open world games the main story missions are finite. Though Genshin Impact plans on adding more story content throughout the games lifespan, you’re here because you want to increase your adventure rank fast right?
Luckily for you, Story Missions are just the beginning.
Daily Commissions
Upon hitting AR 12 you will unlock a mission called ‘Every Day a New Adventure’. This is given to you by the guild receptionist Katheryne, situated in Mondstadt. Upon completing this mission you will unlock Daily Commissions.
These are an incredible source of Adventure Rank XP, providing you with large amounts of AR XP per mission.
Even better, upon completing all Daily Commissions for that day, you will receive a larger reward that includes Primogems.
Exploration
So you’ve done all the Story Missions and you did your Daily Commissions in about 10 minutes; what else can you do to up your AR Rank? The answer to this question is actually rather simple: explore the world.
Genshin Impact has a very well crafted open world, having taken clear inspiration from another open world masterpiece. Exploring every nook and cranny of this world will net you with tangible rewards.
Opening chests can get you anywhere from 10-30 AR XP depending on the type of chest.
Completing Challenges will also get you both AR XP and Primogems. They come in a variety of forms; from timed platforming challenges to combat scenarios. Taking the form of glowing red pillars (in various shapes, depending on the challenge) you can usually spot them from afar.
Domains
Domains are dungeons that you will farm during the mid-late game for the upgrade resources and artifacts they provide.
Upon completion they will also provide you with 100 plus AR XP. These are a good consistent source of AR XP as you begin to enter the late game because they are repeatable. But, bare in mind that completing Domains does cost resin. Take your time when deciding which Domains to do on which days to maximise your use of resin.
The Adventurer’s Handbook is another good source of AR XP. The Adventurer’s Handbook will have set challenges you need to complete to progress to the next chapter. You’ll get rewards for each Challenge completed and a larger reward for completing all challenges within a chapter, similar to how Daily Commissions work.
World Quests are the juiciest source of AR XP in the game outside of Story Missions. You will need to explore the world in search of blue exclamation points. These indicate a World Quest, which is essentially a side quest.
These quests can span multiple objectives and even send you across the map in search of a specific enemy or item. But trust me when I say, they are worth it. These quests can reward you upward of 300 AR XP and can provide you with that adventure rank boost you’ve been missing since completing the campaign.
Quick Rundown
To summarize for the TL:DR crowd: completing the main campaign missions, World Quests and Daily Commissions will grant you large chunks of AR XP.
While world chestas and challenges, along with the Adventurer’s Handbook grant you smaller, incremental amounts of AR XP; with Domains sitting somewhere in the middle, granting you around 100 AR XP per Domain.
Using these methods I managed to crack AR 20 in about 3 days and that was before finishing the campaign. How long did it take you? What AR are you at the moment and many Ranks are you looking to get with this guide? Why not drop us a comment below and we will do our best to get back to you.
