Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC: Who Will The New Characters Be?!

With the most recent addition to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate team being only a few days ago, it’s had us thinking; who will be the next 5 characters to join the gang? Currently ,there’s absolutely no information on who these characters could be or when they’ll be announced or released… but we’re going to guess anyway! Here’s our ideas for the next 5 Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC characters:

Who will be next?

Crash Bandicoot

Perhaps it could be a little on the nose, but Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time was announced the same day as Min Min was announced as the new Smash character. Coincidence? I think not. Crash has been a recurring figure in many gamers’ lives for over 20 years, it’s not incredibly strange to consider the fact that he may be joining the fight soon. If not Crash, then it’s also possible we’ll see Coco, Dr. Cortex, or Tawna as the new challenger. Either way, that would be great news!

“Go, Crash! Yeah, Crash, you’re doing great!”

K.K. Slider

Earlier this year, the new Animal Crossing game was released, Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Isabelle is already featured in the game, along with Villager, but these were both added before the new AC game. K.K. Slider is a massive character in the new game, adored by all, and bringing him to your island is where the game rolls the credits, so he’s clearly a V.I.C. (Very Important Character). It certainly wouldn’t be surprising to see him be added but he’ll probably be the 5th and final addition, what with him being a huge celebrity.

“How about a song to bring up the beat?”

The Doom Marine/Doomguy

Running along with the same thought process as Animal Crossing, Doom Eternal also came out earlier this year and will soon be added to Switch. Doomguy would make an awesome fighter and would probably have some really great moves and combos. There are some characters fairly similar to him so it’s definitely possible. Although, with Doom Eternal being an 18+ game, it’s possible that this would act against the Marine’s favour. But we do have some risque moves and poses in Bayonetta, so here’s hoping!

“Warning: the Slayer has entered the facility.”

Goku

Fans of Smash Bros have been begging for Goku from Dragon Ball since Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and it would appear that the developers are beginning to listen to what their fans want. Goku fits several categories that some of the existing fighters have created so he would slip into the role quite easily. Masahiro Sakurai briefly mentioned Dragon Ball in the ARMS character reveal… Furthermore, Sakurai has also said in the past that Goku will never be in Smash but he’s said it so many times that I believe it may actually be a poor cover-up.

“I think I know how to get that smirk off your ugly mug. I’m going to renovate your face!”

Steve

Minecraft Steve is a long-time favourite of Smash fans to spam the game developers into considering. They’ve been bugging the hell out of their Twitter essentially begging for Steve to be one of the new characters. Unfortunately, Steve is probably a bit of a long shot. But don’t get disheartened, so was Joker, Cloud, and Banjo-Kazooie! It would be super interesting to see what sort of moves Steve would have and whether his Final Smash would include some other characters, such as a pig.

*Chops tree menacingly*

Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC: What do you think?

Sure, some of these may be odd choices, but in my defense, the Wii Fit Trainer is an official Super Smash Bros fighter. Anything can happen. Personally, I’d love to see K.K. Slider and Crash Bandicoot to be added, despite my furious love for Zelda, Bayonetta, and Palutena. Is there anyone you think could be a good bet? Let us know! For now, we just have to anxiously await the date announcement…
