Top 5 Life is Strange Easter Eggs You Might Have Missed

Life is Strange is a narrative focused time-travelling mystery game. If that wasn’t enough to get your head around, it’s also chock-full of clever little Easter eggs to find. Without further ado, here’s our top 5 life is strange Easter eggs you might have missed! Warning, spoilers ahead!

Car License Plates

This is an Easter egg for the eagle eyed. More or less every license plate in this game is a reference to a TV show. Walking around Blackwell parking lot, you’ll find an eclectic group of shows. From BRKBD for Breaking Bad to BFFVMPRSLR for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, you can get a look into the viewing habits of the game’s creators.

Bulls**t Code Puzzles

In the fifth episode, Max finds herself trapped in the Two Whale’s toilets during a nightmare sequence. In order to escape she must figure out and enter a code into a lock on the door. Something happens If you manage to input the wrong code 50 times. Yes, 50, as in 1 more than 49 or 2 score and 10 times. Max will break the 4th wall by saying “I’m going to make the designers pay for all these bulls**t code puzzles”. Hopefully you didn’t find this on your first play through.

Kate’s Video

There’s a video going around of Kate taking drugs at a Vortex party. It’s mentioned a few times throughout the course of the game, but isn’t shown. In episode two you’ll see Victoria write a link on the bathroom wall. This is a real link that takes you to a video that’s been taken down entitled ‘Kate at Vortex club!!!’. A very cool detail.

Thanks For Crying!

The penultimate episode of a series is a tricky thing to pull off. Life is Strange managed to use their’s to give the audience an emotional gut-punch. It would spoil the game entirely to talk about, but this Easter egg should give you an idea. After the credits of each episode the message ‘Thanks for playing!’ pops up. In episode 4, however, we are given the message ‘Thanks for crying!’. Cute.

STORY SPOILERS AHEAD!

Mr. Jefferson’s Foreshadowing

Right at the beginning of the first episode, we hear Mr. Jefferson lecturing to his class. “Seriously though, I could frame any one of you in a dark corner, and capture you in a moment of desperation”. And that’s exactly what he does. Yes, it’s pretty much an admission of guilt in the first 10 minutes. Obvious on a second play-through, when you know what Mr. Jefferson is really about, this is very smart writing.
